I bought this to put in my garage specifically because it said: Works with Google. In my Google Home I could add the device but at the beginning I couldn't see the camera like I could my Google camera or my Doorbell. Something happened at Google because now I can see it in the Home view which is great.
This is the camera I should have bought first. I needed a wifi camera that I can monitor real time on any of my computers without a subscription or having to use a dedicated UI or my smart phone. I wanted one that would run RTSP without shutting down. While you still have to sign up for an account and load the app on your smartphone, it does allow you to create a 'camera account' which can then be connected via an RTSP viewer on any platform. I run it on Windows 10 and Linux. I have configured shortcuts on both OS systems. Figuring out the script for the shortcuts was the hardest part.
Bought and installed two of them. Setup with wifi was quick. I am using local storage on a micro SD card (not included). The magnetic mount is super easy to install with 2 small screws. I am impressed with the speed and ease of use of the app. If you are looking for high security and tamper resistance, I would go with a bigger sturdier camera that screws to the wall but this is great for home use.
The camera video quality is very good. The only problem I have right now is just the connection range of the cameras. The connection is very intermittent even with 1 wall in between and less than 3 meters from the router. Im planning to use a wifi extender to get better signal to the camera.
This is a great camera and stays connected at all times. The app works excellent and it has never let me down unlike the unit it replaced.
I was looking for an inexpensive, user friendly smart platform for my property. Camera, smart bulbs, temp sensor etc. There are lots of options to choose from. A bit overwhelming for a Not so Tech Savvy person. I settled on Tapo and Im very happy with the several products Ive added so far.
Good for the price. It will not record without an sd card or for a continued fee cloud access. The worst part about this is if you want good recordings, a quality sd card can be very expensive.
Has all features all other budget security cameras have combined, and doesn't require subscription for most if not all of them. Very clear views. Better than all my other brand cameras in this price range.
I love these cameras! Very affordable, reliable. I use mine inside, against a window, so I keep them all on "daytime" setting. I've tested the infrared night time setting (outside of course, not up against a window) and it really does show a lot, but I have to admit, I prefer the daytime setting, even at night. I use a 128GB SD card, so even when I record at the highest quality setting, I get several days of recording. I have two of these, the night vision wireless model, the doorbell cam and I plan to get yet another of this particular model.
its ok
Works well great features and picture
Great product. I installed it on the front of my house as there have been vehicles stolen around the neighborhood. Super easy to install and set up on my phone.
Very good in daylight or low light condition..Image quality is very good and push notice is quick..Nighttime with little light its only good..Not the best image but tracks well.Settings are easy to use.Flood light is bright enough to light up the subject outdoors at night.I give it a solid 7.5/10 ..Sound quality is very good but if your too close there is feedback..
Easy to set up, right out of the box. You'll want a mini-SD card if you're not wanting to use Tapo's cloud storage (which ain't free). Easy to configure, nice, sharp picture, easy to share with family members, I've got nothing critical to say about the C-120. (I'm using mine indoors, not sure how it would hold up outdoors. The cord plugin would be my main concern outdoors.)
Its hard to believe you can get a camera this good for so little money. Daytime video quality is almost on par with my $300 HikVison and Dahua CCTV cameras. Night performance is also very good with the IR LEDs. Wifi connection is stable and works great. The included app works well and has decent AI for identifying people, cars, pets etc. TP-Link as usual has its act together. Camera continues to record if Wifi is lost so you can still review clips once connection is re-established.This camera is much better than the Wyze and any of the subscription based cameras from Blink etc. The most important feature for me is RTSP support allowing streaming to NVRs or in my case a Blue Iris video surveillance server.
