Amazingly the thing works great. Including the solar. Tracks great. Picks up movement quickly. Battery stays charged. Add a memory card. You can talk on it from your phone and you can call it from your phone. Spotlight comes on and is very bright. There's a dimmer light when you are viewing on your phone that comes on. Had no issues.We were confused for a short time because the detection settings for pet/person/vehicle kept turning off. We figured out it happened when we changed it to away mode at night. I'm not sure why that happens unless it's to keep it running full-time? This thing turns on the second the bear walks out of the woods and follows it to my trash can. I can yell at him or set the alarm off and it's very loud. The light comes on and is very bright and it lets my German Shepherd know the bear is here and she gets in the window and runs him out of the trash. The camera and the dog work together. It's been pretty fun watching him stand up against my barbecue and the camera following him as he runs away. I plan to buy another one soon. I just need a way to extend my Wi-Fi 300 ft that actually works. I do recommend this camera.I've included a screenshot off of a video. You can see how bright the light is. I have a camera about 8 feet up in a tree.

Wonderful bit of kit for monitoring an area, we've installed one outdoors that's worked great over the Canadian winter. The pan + tilt capability allows for subject tracking and ensuring coverage of a wide area. The ability to keep tabs on things when you're away is wonderful, and the solar panel adds extra longevity to the battery life!

Set up and installation was dead simple and clear to follow.

As long as you can get a WiFi signal it’ll work. The little solar panel gets maybe 2-3 hours of sunlight a day and has kept the internal battery at 100% no subscription is amazing and has worked and outperformed the ring cameras 10 fold. Quality is 8/10 but for the price, reliability and tracking it’s an easy 10/10. Had for about 8 months kept outdoors in Florida with no moisture issues. Still as good as the day I got it. Not a long term review but initial mounting was easy along with setup.

La calidad tanto del video como del audio es muy buena. La duracion de la batería es larguisima y una vez que esta cargada al 100 detiene la carga por medio del panel solar. It provides a clear and high quality video. It is able to track a move object. I installed it near my front door, so the floodlight light up every time we leave or back to home. The floodlight does use much of the battery but the solar panel helps to charge the battery back.

Been using for two months now. I mounted it with the solar panel and the battery is at 100% every night even though the location gets only a couple hours direct sunlight. Even on cloudy days there is minimal to no loss of battery after the solar charging. The camera takes excellent, clear videos. Triggers very well to motion within the detection zone, while avoiding frequent false triggers (it does have some trouble in heavy rain or snow, particularly in the dark, but it's only been a few empty videos so far). Pulling up the video you want is easy and they are easy to download as well if you want to keep them, as we've been doing now that the neighbors have been prancing around behind our garage with alcohol at 2am every weekend night-super easy to document the issue in case we end up needing to press charges going forward. The app is easy to use, and remote control of the camera is excellent. You can pan and tilt remotely in pretty much all directions. There is a 1-2sec lag on that, but not bad given the mediocre wifi we have. Multiple users can review footage as well as control the camera position if invited by admin (one small issue is, they need to create a tp-link account *before* you can send the invite, which is different from most other apps and makes it a bit harder). We've had no issues with the app function; we can control the camera and view the SD and cloud footage just as easily from elsewhere as from our home network. I have two Wyze cameras that haven't operated quite as smoothly, have battery issues, and are much less user friendly to use without a cloud storage subscription than this. This is my definite fave. About the only complaint I have is, while the camera has excellent range of vision, it won't trigger recording or the light going on except in a much smaller range, even when set to the highest level. This is frustrating when the light was a big reason for choosing this model; you have to be within 15ft straight on or about 6ft at an angle for the light to go on. The camera seems to maybe start recording at a further away, but not much. I would love to see that change. Other than that, though, I'm thrilled with this purchase and would buy other tapo products if the need arose.

I bought 2 of these which were shipped from Amazon US and they arrived in the specified time, a day earlier than expected actually. Easy to install although I may move them when I decide what the optimal position will be. Tapo app is great, no problems connecting the camera, viewing, recording and adjusting settings. Motion detection works well although this will be dependent on where you have it pointing at rest. Night vision works well, I did start using the feature which uses an LED to illuminate the image at night but found it was attracting insects which would cause the motion detection to go off, so now just use the infra red which is adequate. Again, I am playing around with the solar panel position to make the most of the winter sun, I think I have it set ok for now and the battery keeps topped up.There are enough features on the camera and app to keep me busy, now I just need to get hold of a tablet to fix to the wall to live stream the different points of view in my quest to spot the deer making their way through the garden!

These cameras are amazing! Even in winter, and in some areas that don't have full sunlight much of the day, the batteries are always within 75% to 100% charged, and the clarity and manoeuvrability are exceptional!

Has all the features and no crazy forever subscriptions!
