I have extensive TAPO system 8 security cameras, contacts, door bell , motion sensors for over 2 years . The Tapo Phone App is very informative and intuitive . Added 2 water detectors . Tapo system is pretty robust and seldom disconnects . Can access videos and alerts on cruise ships, Asia, Europe. S. America Antarctica . So network is very stable

Many people give this item a poor review because when they bought it, they didn't realize it needs a hub to connect to their network. That's on them, their own fault for not reading and researching the product before buying it. One hub works with many items and it allows a small battery to power this item for a year or so. It has a long wireless range which is quite handy.

For the price, even though you need to buy a hub, it's worth it for the piece of mind. Knowing you've got a leak before your home floods could save you thousands, plus eliminating the headaches that come with water damage.It works works well with other TP-Link devices so I have it setup with a TP-Link smart switch which will turn off a water valve so even if I'm not home I don't worry about flooding. I've got one by my water heater, another under the dishwasher, and one under the washing machine.

Easy to setup. Speaker is loud enough to hear it on our second floor (device is located in the basement for the sump pump). Phone alerts are quick/instantaneous for when it detects a leak. Has detectors on the bottom and top so you can use it to sense a flood or a leak from a pipe.
