I bought the TP-Link Tapo D210 mainly because I wanted a reliable doorbell camera better than I one i had before. I chose a solution that didn��t force me into a monthly subscription, and so far it��s been a great decision. My main goal was to clearly see who��s at the door and keep an eye on packages, and the 2K video quality really delivers. The picture is sharp enough to recognize faces easily, and the wide head-to-toe view means I can see everything from visitors�� faces down to packages left on the ground, which a lot of other doorbells miss.What surprised me the most was how well it works at night. The spotlight turns on when motion is detected and gives full-color night vision instead of the usual black-and-white footage. This makes a big difference when trying to identify people or see details in low light, and it also feels like an added deterrent. I like that the spotlight brightness can be adjusted so it��s not overly harsh.Notifications have been very accurate. The free person detection actually works and cuts down on false alerts from random movement, which was something I worried about before buying. I also really like the Ring Call feature �� getting a call-style alert makes it much harder to miss someone at the door, and answering is quick and easy without having to open the app.Battery life has been solid. I didn��t want to deal with frequent charging, and the battery lasts a long time even with regular motion alerts. Installation was straightforward, and the angled wedge helped a lot since my door isn��t perfectly straight. Two-way audio is clear enough to have a proper conversation, and the quick response messages are handy when I��m busy or not home.The fact that it supports local storage with a microSD card was one of the biggest reasons I chose this doorbell. I like knowing my videos are stored locally without paying a subscription, while still having the option for cloud storage if I ever need it. It also works well with Alexa and Google Assistant, which is a nice bonus.Overall, this doorbell does exactly what I wanted it to do �� clear video, smart alerts, good battery life, and no forced monthly fees. It feels reliable and well thought out, and for the price, it offers a lot of value. I��d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a practical, no-nonsense smart doorbell that just works.

A really great camera doorbell for the price. Setup was easy, but follow the installation instructions on wall exactly or your motion sensor will not be as effective. My only concern is the battery life. There are options in the app to save power so I am using them. We will see how long the battery life is until I have to recharge it. The picture quality during the day and at night is excellent. I am very pleased.

We have been using this doorbell cam for a few months now and I have been very pleased with how well it has worked. The setup time was very quick and installation outside was straight forward. The app shows you step by step making it a breeze. Overall quality of the camer is great, and even at night we can clearly see our front yard.The only problems I have noticed which does not happen off but sometime the video will start in the middle of an action rather than detecting the person walking up from further away. I was also disappointed to find out that there is no local storage on the unit itself has no built in storage, luckily I had an SD card on hand I could use so not a huge problem, but if you do not want to pay for online storage you will need a compatible SD card.We were concerned the battery would not last long, and really if you don't have every single detect option turned on this should last quite a long time. I have not had to charge it since purchasing. I've found the motion detect to be quite finicky as it would pick up cars passing which caused it to drain faster so I have just let it on the detect person option and has been great since.Similar features to other units and a much better price point. Very happy with this purchase

After a year using it, I can say it is amazing value for money. It��s really good, the image is clear, works perfect at night and the notifications are soo helpful.The battery last forever, I think we have charged it 2 or 3 times since we got it, and it��s constantly letting us know what��s going on in our front door.It��s pretty easy to set up and hang up by the door and I love you get a call every time someone rings the bell. The audio is also good, you can have a conversation with the other side in good time, just a little delayed at times but I can blame my internet for that.It will save all the videos on the app and you can revisit all the actions you set up at any point.And the best, if you have a whole Alexa system set up, you can stream the camera on your tv, phone or even on the google screen when it rings, so it doesn��t matter what part of your house you��re in, you can see who��s at your door with no need to move.

This is my first time using any Tapo products. I decided to choose this model over some of the generic brands out there because I have always had a good experience using TP Link networking products in the past, so I wanted to give their smart home line a try. Two big selling points for me were the internal battery, which is way larger than most standard doorbell cameras, and the fact that the chime is a plug in type that does not require its own batteries.When I first opened the box, I thought the unit looked a bit weird with the black and white color scheme, but it eventually grew on me. Setting it up on the first day was incredibly easy and it paired with my wifi network without any issues. The app itself is very intuitive and explains a lot of the options in detail, making it highly beginner friendly.Here is a breakdown of my pros and cons after living with it for a few days.Pros:- The picture is very clear and the video movement is buttery smooth during playback.- A massive positive is that the AI detection feature is completely free and does not require a subscription. So far I have only used it for human detection, and it identifies people very accurately.- I was initially worried that the 160 degree diagonal POV would be too narrow for my porch, but in real world use it has worked out well. I actually prefer it because I do not like the distorted 180 degree fisheye effect anyway.- The app is great, though you do have to play around with the sensitivity settings. It uses separate parameters, meaning there is one hardware PIR setting that tells the camera when to wake up, and separate software based AI sensitivity settings for monitoring people, movement, and other objects.- The onboard speaker on the camera is loud and clear, and the indoor chime is also very loud and connects to the network via wifi easily.- Mounting the camera was easy and I absolutely love the wedge mount. It was incredibly useful for my specific porch application.- I eventually connected a solar panel to it (a non TP Link model that has a built in battery). The charging light on the camera did not flash when I first plugged the cable in, but after an afternoon of bright sunlight, I noticed the battery level went up a few percent. It definitely works, even if it is just a slow trickle charge.- It records locally to an SD card, and the slot cover is securely protected by a small screw for peace of mindCons:- The main reason I am rating this 4 stars instead of 5 is that it has a few quirks. The camera occasionally disconnects from my wifi network, and there was one specific occasion where it completely stopped sending detection notifications for a few hours.- Even though I have set a specific detection area for my porch, people who walk completely outside of that frame are still triggering the camera and sending notifications. It definitely seems like a software bug with the zone boundaries.- Because I keep all of my security cameras isolated on a guest network, I am unable to download videos directly to my phone inside the app. I can still do a screen capture during playback to save footage, but it adds an extra step to the process.- The battery life is still to be determined. On my first day of usage, the battery level dropped incredibly fast from 100% down to 67% in just 16 hours. However, since then it seems to have stabilized and now only drops an average of 5% per day. I live on a busy street with a lot of pedestrian traffic, so I am still tweaking the settings to try and only capture people who actually step onto my porch.- While mounting was easy, the small screws that attach the main bracket to the wedge bracket are tiny and can strip easily. I highly suggest using a high quality small Phillips bit so you don't ruin them.I am going to keep monitoring the battery usage during my return period, but it seems like I will end up keeping this. Even though it is not completely perfect, it is still the best doorbell camera I have used to date and I am quite happy with the purchase so far.Update: As I was writing this review a new firmware version was released, version 1.1.15, and I did update it just to ensure it had the latest improvements.
