2K 4MP Outdoor Wired Camera | Tapo C320WS

This is my second time buying this exact model. Have various and more expensive models also. Keeping with TP-Link for all my cameras and home automation. Overall, their cameras are not bad, you just need a strong wireless signal so I��ve had to increase my mesh network (which is also TP-Link Deco). My first unit, the speaker stopped working (for alarm sound, maybe two way voice also which I don��t use for that camera) after about 6 months. I use Blue Iris software for all my cameras. The one star less is for minor connectivity issues plus they sent me the wrong adapter plug (first picture). Looks like it is for use with a European outlet. Fortunately I don��t need it as I wire all my cameras on mini 2x18650 Li-ion battery UPS�� (as seen in second picture).

Fairly simple install and great app experience! What was important is the strong WiFi connection being outdoors and has RTS support if I want to do some local storage.Ideally I connect it using Ethernet but I didn't have the connection to outdoor, which this offers.I was replacing my other camera which introduced ads everytime you open the app. I hope tapo does not do that as well.

I purchased this camera to try as I already had two other Tapo cameras which are double the price of this one.There are so many features that I want to list, but you can find them in the camera videos and other online YouTube reviews. I will talk about the major key points that I liked.Pros:1. This camera can produce colored videos even in the night time without starting the light. I have uploaded a night video that you can see.2. Photo and video quality is great.3. I tested it on wi-fi and wired and both work great. Surprisingly the Wi-fi coverage is better than my other two Tapo cameras, it may be due to the antena.4. It is full of features and you can use it with cloud or without cloud (local SD card storage).5. I am in Canada and it has already started snowing, but they provide you with weather seal for both the wire connections. That is really helpful.6. Tapo app is wonderful and loads quickly for me. I am happy with the app and its features so far.7. You can create zones for different kinds of movements like, people, car, dog and even create a line-crossing detection, area intrusion detection and camera tampering notifications and the list goes on and on.8. Alerts and detection are error free and amazingly they work 100% accurate every time. I have been Lorex camera user in the past and i loved those cameras but detection was something that always lacked in my Lorex cameras.Cons:Technically I have not seen any negatives of this camera so far but since it is a wired camera, you may have to look for an easy way to put the power on. Wired internet is not a big challenge since it connects with Wi-fi like a charm.I would recommend this product.

Initial Review:The camera is a solid piece of hardware that works exactly as described. Over the past 3 days I've tested the cameras with my rather strict requirements in order for what I needed. This camera has a lot of smart features built in to allow for reliable offline operations and smart "AI" features built in which allows for a wide array of alerts. Initially it was a pain to get the alerts dialed in so that I wasn't bombarded with notifications 24/7. However once done, I only received notification when an actual event was detected. My recommendation if you're using it in the manner I was (as shown in photos.) Make your detection areas smaller and set the sensitivity between 2-4.Overall the camera has clear video quality, however I found myself switch starlight mode off as the camera's LEDs appeared to be always on during the night.The downside of this camera is it's power connector. The provided connector is not waterproof and while the 3M cable is plenty long for most people in my case I found it to be too short in 2 out of 3 areas I have this camera installed.Lastly the main advantage of a camera such as this one is the "open" nature of the software the RTSP and being able to use this to add the camera to Homekit has allowed this camera to integrate well with my setup. However, I cannot say the same for the "supported" Google Home setup as you will need a smart display to be able to view the feed from this Camera.Better, more detailed review will be included in about a month's time from now. Overall, I would recommend this camera to others especially considering it's NVR support, built in detection and great price point.Cloud storage is being tested, overall okay nothing special in my opinion.

Don't waste your time. I purchased 2 cameras of nov 27 2024, in march of 2025 both stopped working. I paid for 1 year subscription for both cameras, and it is a waste... the camera itself lasted only 4 months... DON'T BUY!!!!When it worked, it was great, it recorded fine, connected to wifi easy, detected trespassing...but it kicked the bucket way too early.. didn't even last half a year...Edit: I contacted the seller and got a replacement, they were quick to respond and the process was fairly easy especially that Im pretty close to their head office so I scheduled an appointment dropped the defected units and got new one. I would buy from them again!

Bought door bell and these cameras .. easy set up not subscription needed if you put SD card in. Highly recommend

Overall, I��m quite happy with this camera for its price. I use it as a RTSP camera in Scrypted to work with Apple HomeKit. My only issue is the persistent static noise. I��ve tried all the manufacturer��s recommended solutions, but it still happens.

Easy to install and set up.Haven't had any issues with it in +40��C or -40��C temperatures!Can set up fences to have motion notifications more specific. For example, I live in row housing and the lawn beyond my patio is communal. I only want a notification if someone comes on to my patio. I can set up a fence so that it only alerts if the threshold is crossed. Great feature!Also love the two-way communication feature.Highly recommend!

Neat little camera. Had it up and running in about 10 Min. and played with the App for another hour or so. There's not a lot NOT to like with it. The speaker and microphone work fine after adjusting the volume. the microphone, in particular, is very clear and sounds terrific. Lots of neat features and a 256GB card holds TONS of videos. I did a few samples and downloaded them to see the format and bit rate. It was surprisingly low considering how good the videos looked. Both 720P and 1440P used about 800 to 850 Kb/sec (downloaded to the card from the cloud) and the mono audio was 64 Kb/sec. So........a 256GB card will hold about 25 days of non-stop recording!! That is insane. Of course, I will have my camera set to record for a few minutes whenever it detects motion so the card should basically last forever till it loops over. The camera records in the h264/mp4 format at 20 FPS. I love that you can have it run off 2.4GHz WiFi or hook up to an ethernet cable. TP Link makes good quality stuff. I have a couple of their unmanaged Gigabit switches which have been running reliably for several years. Right now I'm using their free 1 month cloud service but I doubt I will after the 30 day trial period. The TP-Link Tapo C320WS is on sale right now for a really good price and that's why I pulled the trigger. I suggest you do too if you need something like this. The main benefit over the Blink cameras, I also have, is the ability to record continuously - a very good feature!!I've only had it for a couple of hours so far but I am impressed with it. I'll update this review if things change but, as of now, I really like it and recommend it.

Overall this is seems like a good camera. The only complaint is the massive connection bundle that is attached to the camera and can't be removed, extended or otherwise "managed". So, the installation has this collection of connectors that can't be removed or even temporarily disconnected to provide clearance for installation. A single cable would make more sense to allow for a streamlined install.

Love this camera. Installed it about a month ago and it has been great. Winter in Canada, so installed in a temp spot and intend to move in spring to new spot. Working great. The night view is superb, looks like the area has been floodlit and is so clear. Never knew so many night animals visited my driveway!!!

Surprisingly good people detection. I got this one for my front yard and use a few similarly priced 360�� cameras for other angles around my property. The image quality is good, though not great when zooming in, but it's more than good enough for my needs.I'm very satisfied with this purchase. It offers great value for the price and quality.

Great camera, easy to setup and looks amazing.Make sure you move your camera further back or you will feel ��zoomed�� in.

Fantastic camera. Clear and crisp picture and lots of different features. Before ordering this i read afew reviews that said it only recorded for 2 seconds and was lagging. I had the same thing happen but it wasnt the camera, it was my wifi. I did some internet digging and found that In the app you can see signal strength for each camera and mine was too weak because it was too far away from the router. I bought a wifi booster for like 50 bucks and bam the cameras worked flawlessly. They are very sensitive and record everything that you have selected. Its alot of features so it took me a while to tweak it how I want it but now its perfect. Id give this 6 stars if I could. Very easy set up and very easy directions to follow (and im tech stupid).
